Web Page Analysis - lynnmariesmith.net
The Personal Portfolio category of the contest awarded web pages designed as "portfolios, pet projects and personal collections of individuals who are displaying their work and passions online" (SXSW). Lynn Marie Smith is an author, speaker and activist. The primary theme of her web page was to illustrate her authorship. And the secondary themes were to illustrate er activism and motivational speaking capabilities.

Through the background image, (Figure 4.1) which is displayed on every page throughout the site, the audience gets a sense that Lynn Smith is an author. The image is of what looks like a work desk. On the desk, you see a typewriter, paper and pencils and a copy of Lynn Marie Smith's Rolling Away. The presentation of these objects give the audience an idea that Ms. Smith is a writer and furthermore, Rolling Away is a current book Smith has out. Also on the desk lays an open notebook, a full coffee mug and a rolodex. These images can convey to Smith's speaker/activist theme.
