Introduction
For most people, digital media is involved in everyday life. Whether we are browsing websites for leisure and entertainment, or using it for work, digital media is a powerful resource. At Clayton State University, the CMS 3710 course analyzes digital media using the theories of Lev Manovich and the practical applications of Hillman Curtis. I designed this website utilizing the lessons I have learned this semester to analyze a digital media website called Seat Geek.
What is SeatGeek.com?
SeatGeek.com is an interactive website that allows users to selection concert and sports events globally to purchase tickets. Along with purchasing tickets, the user can also select seat location and forecast the best time to buy their tickets. I am will showcase and analyze several different aspects of the website:
1) Color
Color is a very important part of all websites. Users are either attracted or repulsed from a website based on its color scheme.
2) Structure
Page Structure: The setup of a page is integral to a site's success.
Site Structure: A sites organization can either confuse a reader or keep them on track.
3) Audience: digital media that does not address their audience can loose money and viewers.
4) Interface Design: Creating an easy to use interface for use is the most important culmination of all of the prior aspects.
After discussing these aspects, I will go through the strengths and weaknesses of the website.
